Looks and weight 10, heating 0 : I believed the promotional tag on the heater. It is the worst space heater I have ever purchased. I had an oil heater that looked like an old fashion hot water heater, not very pretty, and haeavy, but it heated circles around this product. I thought the remote control feature was good since you could set by temperature setting as well as high and low. Sadly this unit does almost nothing. Save your money, and stay away from this product. I just don't know what this heater is good for.

I have purchased 3 heaters from Soleus Air. Two of these 360 and one previous mica flat one. All three have had serious problems. Twice Soleus shipped me the wrong heater and we had to exchange it. They advertised the digital version with a remote, but sent the non-remote version. The first time, they gave me a $10 discout and I kept the heater. The next time, I had to return the heater and wait for a replacement.

Of the two HM5-15R-32 360 heaters I have, both have died. They are junk. Probably made in China. One made so much noise heating up that my daughter (who is 8) asked to have it removed from her room. We moved it to our bedroom and it did indeed make a ton of popping and cracking as it heated up and cooled down. A few months later it stopped working all together (it just goes off after about 5 minutes of running).

The other 360 we have started producing a horrible burning electrical smell. I wrote to the company who sold us the heater and they refused to stand behind their return policy. I have not connected Soleus air directly, but I have a bad feeling it's just going to be more run around.

Hopefully Soleus air goes out of business soon, because the products they make are horrible. At least the 3 we've bought. Wish I could give them negative stars...

The first day the heater worked fine, seemed to put off decent heat, quiet, etc. Then all of the sudden it turns itself off and now every time I turn it on it shuts off after a few minutes on HIGH. I Tried different plugs, left it off for hours then tried again. It will stay on on LOW, but puts out very little heat. I am headed back to Menard's today to get a different brand. This heater is worthless and for sure not worth the $80 I paid.

Bought this past weekend at Menard's for $77 for son's bedroom. So far it has worked great. Quiet! Quick to heat the room up (~11'x15'). Maintains temperature set on digital display (have thermometer in room to verify). Had one of the delonghi radiator style heaters before, but was so noisy that it kept waking our son up. Hopefully it will work well for quite a while (was surprised to read the other posts).

Piece of garbage.

(side note: the first one that got sent to me leaked water everywhere; I sent it back and received a working unit)

It's as if someone designed this thing aiming specifically for annoyance and inconvenience.

The manual is full of contradictions and outright lies; the unit needs draining far more than they suggest and the process is the most ridiculous thing I've ever tried to do.

The drainage spout is located about a half inch off the ground and the manual suggests that you not move the unit while it's full (I don't know exactly how much water it holds, but it takes a loooong time to drain).

This forces you to do one of two things; spend an hour filling up and emptying the tiny little tray they give you, or come up with some of your own creative and time saving drainage methods because you WILL have to drain this thing every 4-6 hours.

Plus, this unit is massive and a HUGE pain in the ass to move unless you can roll it to wherever you're emptying it.

That being said, if you can rig up a way for it to drain continuously, it works like a charm.

I have had the unit for 2 summers. It sucks. You can't empty it easily. It does not cool our master bedroom and I regret buying it, especially at the cost. Please just buy a window unit. You will regret this purchase.

Unit came with defective hairline crack in water reservoir. Ruined $400 area rug and wood floors underneath it on the first day of use. It was supposed to turn itself off when the water reservoir fills up, but did not. Extremely irritating draining process even if it wasn't cracked. Wish I had chosen any of the other competing air conditioners found on amazon. Never buying a Soleus product ever again.

So I looked around locally before ordering such a heavy device online, but it was cheaper with free shipping so how couldn't I buy it? I was a bit worried when it came, because the box was so big, but its mostly padding, the unit is very respectably sized, and while it has some weight to it, the wheels make it super easy to move around.

The unit is easy to understand, works great, I wish I had bought one a long time ago. I use it in the garage so I can have guests over during bbqs (I live in a townhouse-like setup, so have to bbq outside my garage), and it does a great job of keeping it cool. Being in Vegas, the real test will be this summer, but I have confidence it'll make a noticeable difference.

This product worked great at first, but over time, this particular product line of Soleus Air Micathermic heaters will lose their ability to heat over time. Advertised at 1000 Watts, now, after 1 year, is 478 Watts, and loses wattage each day it's used. This means it's outputting less and less heat.

I submitted a claim to Soleus Air and they have not resolved the problem - they only gave some explanation thinking they were right, but I sent them more details of the problem and they have not responded for over 1 month. Looking up my case number on their site, they consider this case resolved. It is not.

This is product is faulty and you won't get any reimbursements, so be careful, and buy a different brand, or a different heating technology like ceramic.

I will not ever buy a Soleus Air product again - I do not want to support their company in producing poor quality products with poor customer support.
